Menahga man injured in crash with semi

One was injured after a crash with a semi-truck in Park Rapids Wednesday morning.

The state patrol says the Volvo Semi failed to yield while making a left onto Highway 71 from a business access.

The front of a Ford F350 hit the passenger side of the Volvo trailer, with the Ford dragged a short distance before becoming dislodged.

The Ford driver, 46-year-old Matthew Tichy of Menahga, was transported to the Sanford Hospital in Bemidji for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The Volvo driver was not injured. Roads were snowy and icy at the time of the crash.

The Park Rapids Police Department, Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office, Park Rapids Fire and North Ambulance assisted at the scene.
