MINNEAPOLIS– A Minneapolis man was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison for selling heroin on the White Earth Reservation.

According to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, 38-year-old Steven Mitchell Gant was sentenced Tuesday to 90 months in prison for conspiring to distribute heroin after pleading guilty to the charge in January.

According to his guilty plea, Gant and another person conspired to sell the drugs between October 2017 through February 2018. The heroin, originating in Texas, was transported to Minnesota where Gant acquired it.

Gant admitted to traveling to the White Earth Reservation to sell heroin about 25 times.

After serving his sentence, Gant will spend five years on supervised release.
