More flags to be raised at City Hall, another City Manager discussion tonight

The Bemidj City Council will consider a resolution declaring the flying of more flags at City Hall.

A brief POW/MIA flag ceremony with Legion and VFW honor guards is scheduled before a recess.

The resolution recognizes the sacrifice of former POW and Vietnam veteran Gary Guggenberger, with this month commemorating the 50th anniversary of his release after nearly 1,500 days in captivity.

Following the recess, the council is set to discuss a meeting date for the City Manager’s performance evaluation.

At the last meeting, a similar item was added to the agenda but tabled for a further legal review of Nate Mathews’ contract and the city charter.
