(Union Lake, MN) — The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is reminding drivers that the ice on many Minnesota lakes is not thick enough to support a full-size vehicle. The warning comes after a Ford F-250 pickup drove onto Union Lake on Sunday. The ice under the truck was about five-inches thick and the vehicle went through the ice and was completely submerged. United Way funds non-profits who provide a local community service based on documented need(s) within one or more of United Way’s community impact areas. The overall headings are Education, Basic Needs, and Health. Applications will be reviewed by a local volunteer committee. Final investment decisions will be approved by the United Way of Bemidji Area Board of Directors in June.

(Moorhead, MN) — A man has been pulled from the frigid Red River in Moorhead. Crews from Fargo joined in the effort yesterday morning at the Main Avenue Bridge.
