No injuries, one arrested, after train-pickup crash

No one was injured after a train-vehicle crash in Hubbard County Monday evening.

Sheriff Cory Aukes says a 53-year-old Cass Lake man was northbound on 323rd Street in Farden Township.

As he was approaching the stop sign at the railroad tracks, he skidded into the train tracks where the 1995 Chevy pickup stalled out.

The man was able to exit the vehicle just before an eastbound train collided with a truck.

The train included two engines and 15 cars with three Burlington Northern employees on board.

The male’s driving status was canceled-inimical to public safety and he was placed under arrest.

The crash is being investigated by the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office.
