The Bemidji Fire Department reports that a garage fire was quickly extinguished in Northern Township Wednesday afternoon.
According to a release, 19 firefighters responded to the 2700 block of Forest View Drive NE and found a two-stalll garage with moderate black smoke and fire.
Firefighters were on the scene for about 90 minutes with seven pieces of equipment. The garage and its contents were extensively damaged, with the nearby home sustaining light smoke damage.
The fire appears to be accidental. The Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office, Bemidji Ambulance Service and Beltrami Electric assisted at the scene.
