Beltrami County recently completed an updated draft of the County’s multi-hazard mitigation plan, which is required to be updated every five years to remain eligible for federal hazard mitigation grant programs.
The county is encouraging public review and feedback before it is submitted to the state and to FEMA.
The MHMP covers all cities within the county, and incorporates the concerns and needs of townships, school districts and other stakeholders.
The plan addresses how to mitigate against hazards such as tornadoes, flooding, wildfires, blizzards, straight-line winds, ice storms and droughts.
