One firefighter injured in garage fire on Gull Lake Loop

One firefighter was injured and a structure was lost in a garage fire Wednesday afternoon.

The Bemidji Fire Department responded to Gull Lake Loop Road and found a sizeable detached garage fully involved in an intense fire.

Twenty-nine firefighters were on the scene for about three hours, using 11 pieces of equipment.

Due to the intensity of the blaze, crews had to fight the fire from the outside.

The structure and its contents are considered a total loss. One firefighter injury was reported.

The fire, while under investigation, appears to be accidental. Bemidji Ambulance, Beltrami Electric and the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
