One shot, one stabbed in White Earth incident

One man was stabbed and another was shot in an incident in White Earth Monday.

According to a release from the Becker County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 10:30 p.m. to a call reporting a stabbing at a White Earth residence.

The suspect reportedly left the scene and was heading to Detroit Lakes.

During a traffic stop, the suspect, 26-year-old Dustin Jackson of White Earth, reported to the deputy that he had been shot in the abdomen. He was transported to the Essentia-St. Mary’s hospital in Detroit Lakes.

The stabbing victim, 18-year-old Adam Webster of Red Wing, was airlifted to a Fargo hospital.

The Becker County Sheriff’s office says this is believed to be an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the public at this time.

The incident remains under investigation.

The Becker County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the White Earth Police Department, White Earth Ambulance, Callaway Fire Department, St. Mary’s EMS, Life Link Air Ambulance, West Central Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force, Paul Bunyan Task Force, Headwaters Safe Trails Task Force and the Minnesota State Patrol.
