United Way of Bemidji Area Executive Director Denae Alamano stopped by Paul Bunyan Country Headquarters Friday to present them with the 4th Annual Axe Award, which goes, according to the United Way, to a business who goes above and beyond to care for the community.
The United Way said this about Paul Bunyan Broadcasting:
“Our Axe Award, presented to a business who went above and beyond to care for our community goes to… Paul Bunyan Broadcasting! A longstanding partner, Paul Bunyan Broadcasting shows support to the United Way and our mission year after year!
“Helping broadcast our mission to the community, Paul Bunyan Broadcasting produces our Living United Podcast hosted by Kev Jackson and Denae Alamano. This podcast allows the United Way to share education about our work, community needs, and invite Partner Agencies to share their impact.
“Paul Bunyan Broadcasting supports the annual United Way Campaign through their own internal workplace campaign, broadcasting information about our events and community programming, and volunteering on campaign committees!
“Kev Jackson played an integral role in helping launch our annual United Way Fishing Tournament and continues on our committee helping with logistics and spreading the word through Fishin’ Paul Bunyan Country.
“Paul Bunyan Broadcasting and the United Way partner for the Radiothon to End Child Abuse to support local agencies with funds benefitting child abuse prevention programming. The radiothon raised an impressive $33,445 in 2022!”
For its part, Operations Manager Kev Jackson had this to say on behalf of Paul Bunyan Broadcasting: “It’s OUR honor to walk with this amazing organization year in and year out. Thank you, United Way, for what you do everyday!”
Other award winners for 2022 were Northwoods Lumber and Sanford Health. Both won Director’s Choice Awards for their aggressive efforts in and out of their offices on behalf of the United Way of Bemidji Area.
