Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force’s year-end report

The Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force says that over 2021, more than $1.7 million in illegal narcotics were taken off the streets.

According to a release, a combined total of 31.7 pounds of methamphetamine, 3.3 pounds of heroin/fentanyl, 34.8 pounds of marijuana and 1.6 pounds of psilocybin mushrooms were either seized or purchased by task force agents.

In addition, more than 3,600 prescription pills were seized, with an unknown street value.

Over 2021, 68 guns were also taken off the streets, 39 children removed from endangerment and more than $191,000 in cash was seized, pending administrative forfeiture.

The Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force is a collaborative effort across north-central Minnesota, with Beltrami County, the City of Bemidji, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Cass County, Hubbard County, the City of International Falls, Koochiching County, Leech Lake Reservation, Mahnomen County, the City of Park Rapids, and the White Earth Reservation participating.
