Pennington man killed in crash

A Pennington man was killed and a Bemidji man was injured after a crash Wednesday morning in Pennington.

Beltrami County Chief Deputy Jarrett Walton says that 59-year-old Jeffrey Imhoff of Bemidji and 44-year-old Neil C. Cutbank of Pennington collided in the southbound lane of the Scenic Highway.

Cutbank was transported by ambulance to Cass Lake IHS where was later pronounced dead.

Walton says Cutbank was not wearing his seat belt when responders arrived.

Imhoff was transported to Sanford Bemidji with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct the autopsy and the Minnesota State Patrol will reconstruct the accident as part of the ongoing investigation.

The Leech Lake Tribal Police Department, Cass Lake Ambulance, Cass Lake Fire Department and the Minnesota State Patrol assisted at the scene.
