Public input session on rental code tonight at City Hall

The City Council will listen to public input tonight in chambers for proposed amendments to the city’s rental ordinance.

The council is currently weighing three options, with documents available online.

The council will consider the proposed amendments from the ad-hoc rental committee or two options related to changing occupancy limits from one family or four unrelated adults to a square footage occupancy and a stricter requirement on egress windows.

This ordinance amendment process was scrapped last December after two second readings of the ordinance.

The two options are passing an ordinance with a grace period or without one.

The public input session will begin at 5:30 p.m., with an online option via Webex.

Written comments can be sent to the City Clerk before the meeting begins.
