ST. PAUL– A new report from the Minnesota Department of Agriculture shows that the state’s pumpkin harvest this year is underway.
The autumn’s cool weather and high levels of moisture have produced a great crop, according to some farmers.
Minnesota-grown pumpkins should be available at area farmers markets soon, if not now.
Other locally grown produce available this time of the year include apples; root vegetables such as potatoes and carrots; cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli and varieties of squashes.
