Recreational cannabis dispensary will open in Red Lake on Aug. 1

What will likely be the first recreational cannabis dispensary open in the state, Red Lake Nation’s NativeCare announced they will be open for adult recreational business on Aug. 1.

NativeCare debuted in 2021 as a medical marijuana facility with a team that boasts more than 30 years of cultivation experience, as well as a commitment to sustainability and alignment with traditional values.

As the law that passed this legislative session was written, most recreational cannabis dispensaries won’t be able to open until 2025.

The law also allows tribes to regulate adult-use sales on reservations.

The state will reportedly negotiate compacts with interested tribes related to adult use and medical cannabis outside tribal lands.
