Red Lake Conservation offers reward for information on moose poaching

The Red Lake Conservation Law Enforcement Department is offering a $750 reward for information a moose poaching incident.

According to an announcement, last Friday a female moose was poached on Highway 1 West.

The reward will go to the person that provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the persons responsible for the act. An anonymous donor contributed $250 to the reward.

The hunting, shooting and possession of moose from all Red Lake lands, included ceded lands and the Northwest Angle, is prohibited.

Taking a moose on these lands is a gross misdemeanor and penalties are a $3,000 fine and up to a year in prison.
