Red Lake named top ice fishing destination

Upper Red Lake was named one of the best ice fishing destinations in the country.

According to a seven-destination listicle by Fishing Booker, Red Lake’s shallowness allows ice to form as early as November, it has a plentiful walleye, crappie and perch population, and is a great spot for first-time and seasoned ice anglers.

The DNR, in coordination with the Red Lake Nation, recently updated the walleye bag limit for Red Lake this season, more information is available on the DNR website.
