Redistricting returns to Bemidji City Council agenda

The Bemidji City Council held a special meeting last Friday to discuss redistricting.

The last time redistricting was on the agenda, the council voted 5-2 not to move it past the first reading.

\According to the proposed maps, long-time Ward 3 representative Ron Johnson will be drawn out of the ward from his home on Beltrami Court.

Ward 1 will extend further north, including all dorms on the Bemidji State campus, up to 23rd Street.

The proposed ward boundaries are once again scheduled for a first reading for the meeting tonight.

The council will also hear resolutions establishing polling places, with one notable change being the combination polling site for Wards 2 and 4 at the Bemidji Armory.
