The Region 2 Arts Council announced more than $16,000 was awarded through Arts Projects Grants.
According to a release, Bemidji Community Theater, Bagley Area Arts Collaborative, Headwaters Music and Arts, Bemidji Symphony Orchestra, the Clearwaters Life Center in Gonvick and the Watermark Art Center were each awarded funds ranging from $1,500 to $2,500 for various projects.
The Region 2 Arts Council also announced $18,000 was awarded to individual artists in the five-county region.
These grants provide financial assistance to artists in any discipline or stage of their career, so long as they reside in either Beltrami, Clearwater, Hubbard, Lake of the Woods, or Mahnomen counties.
The Individual Artist Grant program is supported by the McKnight Foundation.
The grants, ranging from $700 to $2,000, were awarded to: Hattie Peterson of Solway, Erin Marsh of Bemidji, Teresa McDowell of Williams, Tim Nelson of Bemidji, Jeremy Simonson of Park Rapids, Lara Annette of Bemidji, Michael Bowman of Bemidji, Lowell Wolff of Park Rapids, Bridget Westrum of Bemidji, and Tina Anderson of Bemidji.
