Sanford Bemidji inviting seniors to make COVID-19 vaccine appointments

Sanford Bemidji is now inviting anyone 65 and over to make a COVID-19 vaccine appointment.

According to a release, anyone within this age group who has not yet been vaccinated can call (877)701-0779 to schedule an appointment.

The release says there will not be any cost for the vaccine or appointment, and patients outside of the Sanford network may also make an appointment.

Patients will be observed on-site for 15 minutes following the injection.

Most common side effects are injection site pain, soreness and swelling.

No vaccine brand preferences will be accepted, and those who receive a vaccine that requires a second dose will be able to make their second appointment while attending their first one.

For the Pfizer vaccine, a second appointment should be made 21 days after the first, for Moderna, 28 days, and the Johnson & Johnson is a single-dose vaccine.
