Bemidji’s Sanford Event Center was the recipient of a round of DEED grants aimed at convention centers and movie theaters.
According to a release, Sanford Center will receive $305,000, as part of $4.6 million in convention center relief grants.
“Convention centers and movie theaters are an important part of our economy that has been severely impacted by COVID-19,” said DEED Commissioner Steve Grove.
“The state and our team at DEED have worked hard to award these grants quickly to help these venues weather the pandemic and bounce back during Minnesota’s economic recovery.”
The Bear Pause Theater in Hackensack also received a grant of $50,000, as part of $8.54 million in movie theater relief grants.
