As 2022 dawns, the Covid conversations continue, especially now that mutations of the original are causing a rapid spread of the virus. The latest is Omicron, which reportedly is far more contagious than other variations (which is saying something!) but the symptoms, in general, don’t seem to be as severe.
What does it all mean? Kev Jackson talked with Sanford Health of Northern Minnesota’s Vice President of Clinic Dr. Colleen Swank. She noted that hospitalizations from Covid remain essentially unchanged the last few weeks, but the number of positive tests are trending upward.
She also discussed the concerns among healthcare workers in highly populated areas and what another rush of hospitalizations could mean beyond those with Covid-19. Listen to the conversation:
