Second phase of CSAH 20/Birchmont Beach Rd. NE begins today

Beltrami County Engineer Bruce Hasbaargen says the first phase of reconstructing CSAH 20 is complete.

The section of Birchmont Beach Rd. NE from the State Park entrance east to Hazelwood Rd. is now open to traffic.

Hasbaargen says the road surface will remain gravel until next year, with work expected to continue.

The second phase of the project begins today, from Hazelwood Rd. east to Pincherry Rd. This road will be closed to all traffic.

Residents within the work zone will have access to Tall Pines Rd. Through traffic must use the detour or find an alternate route.

This phase of the project will continue until winter.

As always, motorists are reminded to use caution when traveling in and around all work zones.
