Severe Weather Awareness Week next week

Next week is Minnesota Severe Weather Awareness Week, and emergency management agencies including Beltrami’s will be promoting severe weather safety.

Beltrami County is no stranger to severe weather events, most recently three tornadoes last summer from Red Lake to Pennington.

Monday will focus on alerts and warnings; Tuesday will be centered on storms, hail and lightning; Wednesday’s topic will be flooding; Thursday will be Tornado Drill Day; and Friday is centered on the dangers of extreme heat.

More details on Minnesota Severe Weather Awareness Week will be announced next week.
