Situation Update for Friday, Dec. 18

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 2,737 new COVID-19 cases today, and 65 new COVID deaths, bringing the state’s case count to 391,889 cases and the death toll to 4,723.

Of all deaths, 3,070 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of all cases, 29,835 were health care workers.

About 64,000 tests were completed yesterday, with over 5.096 million tests completed since March.

To date, 360,868 COVID patients no longer need to be isolated.

One Beltrami County COVID death was reported today, a resident in their late 80s. Three Cass County deaths were reported, a resident in their early 70s, a resident in their early 80s, and a resident in their early 90s. One Clearwater County death was reported, a resident in their late 80s.

MDH reported 33 new COVID-19 cases in Beltrami County today, 20 new cases in Cass County, four new cases in Clearwater County and nine new cases in Hubbard County.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 2,731 COVID-19 cases and 33 deaths, Cass County has had 1827 cases and 17 deaths, Clearwater County has had 623 cases and 11 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,331 cases and 34 deaths.
