Situation Update for Friday, Feb. 26

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 1,156 new cases of COVID-19 and 12 new deaths, bringing the state’s case total to 482,978 and the death toll to 6,462.

Five of today’s reported deaths were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of all deaths, 4,046 were residents of these types of facilities.

Of all cases, 37,628 were health care workers.

Today’s data comes after around 39,000 tests were completed yesterday. Over 3.453 million have been tested for COVID-19 with 7.289 million tests completed.

Over 469,000 of the state’s COVID patients no longer need isolation.

MDH reported three new cases in Beltrami County today, six new cases in Cass County, one new case in Clearwater County and three new cases in Hubbard County.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 3,360 cases and 51 deaths, Cass County has had 2,189 cases and 24 deaths, Clearwater County has had 718 cases and 14 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,604 cases and 40 deaths.
