Situation Update for Monday, April 12

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 1,994 new COVID-19 cases today and two new deaths, bringing the state’s case total to 544,046 and the death toll to 6,959.

One of today’s reported deaths was a resident of a long-term care or assisted living facility. There have been 4,319 deaths in these types of facilities.

Today’s data comes after around 24,000 tests were completed yesterday. Over 3.8 million people have been tested for COVID-19 with 8.6 million tests completed.

Nearly 519,000 of the state’s COVID patients no longer need isolation.

MDH is reporting seven new cases in Beltrami County today, 14 new cases in Cass County, one new case in Clearwater County and seven new cases in Hubbard County.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 3,669 cases and 57 deaths, Cass County has had 2,438 cases and 26 deaths, Clearwater County has had 756 cases and 14 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,685 cases and 41 deaths.
