Situation Update for Monday, March 29

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 1,550 new COVID-19 cases today and five new deaths, bringing the state’s case total to 516,608 and the death toll to 6,835.

Two of today’s deaths were among residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. There have been 4,270 COVID deaths in these types of facilities.

Today’s data comes after nearly 23,000 tests were completed yesterday. Over 3.6 million people have been tested for COVID-19, with 8.1 million tests completed.

Nearly 497,000 of the state’s COVID patients no longer need isolation.

MDH reported six new COVID-19 cases in Beltrami County, three new cases in Cass County, and one new case in Hubbard County.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 3,532 cases and 54 deaths, Cass County has had 2,303 cases and 26 deaths, Clearwater County has had 738 cases and 14 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,635 cases and 41 deaths.
