Situation Update for Thursday, May 6

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 1,661 new COVID-19 cases today and 13 newly reported deaths.

In total, there have been 584,227 cases and 7,204 deaths across the state.

Two of today’s newly reported deaths were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. There have been 4,376 resident deaths among these types of facilities.

Today’s data comes after around 38,000 tests were completed yesterday.

More than 4 million in the state have been tested for COVID-19 with 9.4 million tests completed.

MDH is reporting 12 new COVID-19 cases in Beltrami County today, seven new cases in Cass County, one new case in Clearwater County, and 10 new cases in Hubbard County.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 3,885 COVID-19 cases and 58 deaths.

Cass County has had 2,663 cases and 28 deaths, Clearwater County has had 858 cases and 16 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,842 cases and 41 deaths.
