The Minnesota Department of Health recorded 1,574 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 today, and 20 new COVID deaths, bringing the state’s confirmed case total to 127,828 and the death toll to 2,301.
Of those deaths, 1,621 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of those cases, 13,006 were health care workers.
Over 2.564 million PCR (swab) tests and 22,777 antigen (saliva) tests have been completed so far.
Yesterday, about 25,000 PCR tests and 1,610 antigen tests were completed.
To date, 113,976 patients no longer need to be isolated.
MDH recorded 26 new COVID cases in Beltrami County today, bringing the county’s total to 838 confirmed, one probable and seven deaths. The county’s 14-day average case rate per 10,000 people, for the two-week period ending Oct. 10, increased from 40.33 to 49.66.
Sixteen new cases were reported in Cass County today, bringing their total to 344 and five deaths. This county’s case rate decreased, from 28.94 to 26.19.
One new case was reported in Clearwater County, bringing their total to 88 cases. This county’s case rate increased, from 12.48 to 23.83.
In Hubbard County, 11 new cases were reported today, bringing their total to 346 with two deaths. Hubbard’s average case rate increased from 39.31 to 53.21.
MDH reported eight new cases in Itasca County, bringing their total to 696 and 17 deaths, as their case rate increased from 39.16 to 51.77; one new case in Koochiching County, for a total of 164 cases and four deaths, and a case rate increase from 11.86 to 22.94; four new cases in Mahnomen County, for a total of 104 and one death, as their case rate increased from 29.06 to 67.20; and five new cases in Roseau County, for a total of 216 cases, and no change in their case rate, holding steady at 17.46.
Lake of the Woods County reported no new cases today, but their case rate increased from 28.88 to 42.01.
