Situation Update for Thursday, Sept. 24

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 995 new cases of COVID-19 today and three new COVID deaths, bringing the state’s case total to 93,012 cases and a death toll of 1,988.

Of those deaths, 1,435 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of those cases, 9,930 were health care workers.

Over 21,000 tests were completed yesterday, with 1.895 million tests completed so far.

To date, 83,862 COVID patients no longer need to be isolated.

Yesterday, one new patient was admitted to an ICU, and two more were admitted to non-critical hospital wards. MDH changed their reporting on hospitalizations today.

MDH reported 16 new cases of COVID-19 in Beltrami County today, bringing the county’s cumulative total to 405 with five deaths.

Beltrami County Public Health reports 42 active cases of COVID-19, an increase of six from yesterday.

MDH also reported 17 new cases in Cass County, bringing their total to 159 cases with three deaths; one new case in Clearwater County, bringing their total to 27 cases, six new cases in Hubbard County, total of 94 cases and one death; four new cases in Itasca County, total of 303 cases and 14 deaths; and five new cases in Koochiching County, total of 121 cases and three deaths.
