Situation Update for Tuesday, April 20

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 1,189 new COVID-19 cases today and five new deaths, bringing the state’s case total to 558,850 and the death toll to 7,031.

One of today’s reported deaths was a resident of a long-term care or assisted living facility. There have been 4,337 COVID deaths in these types of facilities.

Today’s data comes after around 15,000 tests were completed Monday. More than 3.9 million people have been tested for COVID-19 with 8.8 million tests completed.

Nearly 535,000 of the state’s COVID patients no longer need isolation.

MDH is reporting ten new COVID cases in Beltrami County today, three new cases in Cass County, two new cases in Clearwater County and ten new cases in Hubbard County.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 3,745 cases and 57 deaths, Cass County has had 2,510 cases and 26 deaths, Clearwater County has had 781 cases and 14 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,736 cases and 41 deaths.
