Situation Update for Tuesday, Aug. 25

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 414 new COVID-19 cases today, and eight new COVID-related deaths, bringing the state’s totals to 70,707 cases and 1,779 deaths.

Of those deaths, 1,315 were residents in long-term care or assisted living facilites. Of those cases, 7,873 were health care workers.

Over 1.394 million tests have been administered, with over 1.072 million people tested for COVID-19. Yesterday, fewer than 9,000 tests were completed.

To date, 63,725 COVID patients have been released from isolation.

ICU hospitalizations for COVID patients increased by two today, at 137, with 175 other COVID patients in non-critical hospital settings.

MDH reported four new COVID cases in Beltrami County today, bringing the total to 301 with one death; one new case in Clearwater County, total of 18 cases; five new cases in Itasca County, total of 171 cases with 12 deaths; and one new case in Mahnomen County, bringing their total to 33 cases and one death.
