Situation Update for Tuesday, Dec. 22

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 1,714 new COVID-19 cases today and 24 new COVID deaths, bringing the state’s case count to 401,011 and the death toll to 4,896.

Of all deaths, 3,176 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of all cases, 30,783 were health care workers.

Over 32,000 COVID tests were completed yesterday, with over 5.264 million tests completed since March.

To date, 376,354 COVID patients have been released from isolation.

MDH is reporting 11 new COVID cases in Beltrami County today, four new cases in Cass County, one new case in Clearwater County and four new cases in Hubbard County.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 2,796 COVID-19 cases and 33 deaths, Cass County has had 1,857 cases and 17 deaths, Clearwater County has had 630 cases and 12 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,361 cases and 34 deaths.
