Situation Update for Tuesday, Feb. 23

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 513 new cases of COVID-19 today and one new death, bringing the state’s case total to 480,091 and the death toll to 6,434.

Of all deaths, 4,038 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of all cases, 37,505 were health care workers.

Today’s data comes after around 9,500 tests were completed yesterday. Over 3.425 million people have been tested for COVID with 7.187 million tests completed.

Over 467,000 of the state’s COVID patients no longer need isolation.

MDH is reporting five new COVID-19 cases in Beltrami County, one new case in Cass County, and two new cases in Clearwater County.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 3,344 cases and 49 deaths, Cass County has had 2,172 cases and 24 deaths, Clearwater County has had 714 cases and 14 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,597 cases and 40 deaths.
