Situation Update for Tuesday, May 18

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 519 new COVID-19 cases and 14 newly reported deaths.

Since the pandemic began, the state has had 595,532 infections and 7,310 deaths.

Today’s data comes after around 10,000 tests were completed yesterday. Nearly 4.2 million have been tested for COVID-19 with 9.7 million tests completed.

As of today, 580,838 of the state’s COVID patients no longer need isolation.

One of today’s reported deaths was a Cass County resident in their early 70s.

MDH reported nine new COVID-19 cases in Beltrami County today, five new cases in Cass County, one new case in Clearwater County, and one new case in Hubbard County.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 3,995 cases and 59 deaths, Cass County has had 2,754 cases and 29 deaths, Clearwater County has had 872 cases and 16 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,909 cases and 41 deaths.
