Situation Update for Tuesday, May 4

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 998 new COVID-19 cases today and 11 newly reported deaths.

The state’s case total to 581,335 and the death toll is 7,174.

One of today’s deaths was a resident of a long-term care or assisted living facility. There have been 4,371 deaths in these types of facilities.

Today’s data comes after around 14,000 tests were completed yesterday.

More than 4 million people have been tested for COVID-19 with 9.3 million tests completed.

Nearly 561,000 of the state’s COVID patients no longer need isolation.

MDH is reporting 10 new COVID-19 cases in Beltrami County today, three new cases in Cass County, four new cases in Clearwater County and 10 new cases in Hubbard County.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 3,862 cases and 58 deaths.

Cass County has had 2,648 cases and 28 deaths, Clearwater County has had 854 cases and 16 deaths and Hubbard County has had 1,829 cases and 41 deaths.
