Situation Update for Tuesday, Sept. 15

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 432 new cases of COVID-19 and five new COVID-related deaths, bringing the state’s total to 85,351 cases and 1,927 deaths.

Of those deaths, 1,400 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of those cases, 9,265 were health care workers.

Over 1.733 million COVID tests have been completed, with over 1.247 million people tested. Almost 9,700 tests were completed on Monday, Sept. 14.

To date, 78,953 COVID patients have been released from isolation.

ICU hospitalization numbers are down, from 135 to 131, with 107 others hospitalized in non-critical settings.

MDH recorded one new death and two new cases in Beltrami County, bringing the county’s cumulative totals to 355 cases and four deaths. The latest victim was a Beltrami resident between the ages of 75 and 79.

MDH also recorded one new case in Cass County, bringing their total to 118 with three deaths; and two new cases in Itasca County, bringing their total to 250 with 13 deaths.
