Situation Update for Wednesday, April 14

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 1,715 new COVID-19 cases today and 16 deaths, bringing the state’s case total to 547,101 and the death toll to 6,978.

Two of today’s reported deaths were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. There have been 4,320 deaths in these types of facilities.

Today’s data comes after around 24,000 tests were completed yesterday. More than 3.8 million people have been tested for COVID-19, with 8.6 million tests completed.

Nearly 523,000 of the state’s COVID patients no longer need isolation.

MDH is reporting 18 new COVID-19 cases in Beltrami County today, eight new cases in Cass County, two new cases in Clearwater County and four new cases in Hubbard County.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 3,692 cases and 57 deaths, Cass County has had 2,459 cases and 26 deaths, Clearwater County has had 761 cases and 14 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,692 cases and 41 deaths.
