Situation Update for Wednesday, Feb. 24

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 761 new COVID-19 cases today and nine new deaths, bringing the case total to 480,845 and the death toll to 6,443.

Two of today’s reported deaths were in a long-term care or assisted living facility.

Of all deaths, 4,040 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of all cases, 37,540 were health care workers.

Today’s data comes after around 20,000 tests were completed yesterday. Over 3.43 million people have been tested with 7.207 million tests completed.

Nearly 468,000 of the state’s COVID patients no longer need isolation.

One new death was reported in Beltrami County today, a resident in their late 60s.

MDH reported nine new COVID-19 cases in Beltrami County today, nine new cases in Cass County and one new case in Clearwater County.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 3,353 cases and 50 deaths, Cass County has had 2,181 cases and 24 deaths, Clearwater County ahs had 715 cases and 14 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,597 cases and 40 deaths.
