Situation Update for Wednesday, May 12

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 919 new COVID-19 cases today and 15 new deaths.

In total, there have been 590,436 infections and 7,255 deaths.

One of today’s reported deaths was a resident of long-term care or assisted living facility. There have been 4,378 deaths in these types of facilities.

Today’s data comes after around 21,000 tests were completed yesterday.

More than 4.1 million people have been tested for COVID-19 with 9.5 million tests completed.

As of today, 573,350 COVID patients across the state no longer need isolation.

MDH reported seven new COVID cases in Beltrami County today, 11 new cases in Cass County, two new cases in Clearwater County, and seven new cases in Hubbard County.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 3,929 cases and 58 deaths, Cass County has had 2,707 cases and 28 deaths, Clearwater County has had 866 cases and 16 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,880 cases and 41 deaths.
