Someone Special Volunteer program recognizes Great River Rescue’s Kelly Reid & Adult Day Services’ Annette Marsh

It’s time once again for Paul Bunyan Broadcasting, Ken K. Thompson Jewelry, The Bemidji Pioneer and the United Way of Bemidji Area to recognize the efforts of volunteers in our community by awarding the Someone Special Volunteer Award for outstanding volunteer service.

Great River Rescue depends on volunteers to provide high quality care for pets and pet-related services in our community. Kelly Reid has been a core volunteer at GRR for several years serving in many areas including assisting in fundraising efforts and helping manage our monthly low-cost Pet Fixers clinics. Kelly’s impact on their organization is immeasurable. Her service has helped save countless animals and provide high-quality spay/neuter services to hundreds of clients. Kelly is always ready, eager, and willing to serve whenever she is needed. She is truly someone special!

The purpose of Adult Day Services is to give the elderly the opportunity to live in their homes longer by providing daily services such as whirlpool tub baths, breakfast & Lunch, socialization amongst other participants at the program, transportation to and from the program, and so much more! Annette Marsh helps their program by taking care of the weekly grocery shopping. Annette will go to the store (sometimes two different stores) to make sure she can get everything on the list. She always looks for great prices between stores to find the best deal on food costs as well. With the help of Annette, they can guarantee that their participants will get great meals at their facility!

Kelly Reid and Annette Marsh will receive a volunteer recognition plaque from Ken K. Thompson Jewelry as an acknowledgment of outstanding community service. Thank you, Kelly and Annette, for being SOMEONE SPECIAL.
