Someone Special Volunteer program recognizes Northwoods Caregivers’ Scott Anderson

It’s time once again for Paul Bunyan Broadcasting, Ken K. Thompson Jewelry, The Bemidji Pioneer and the United Way of Bemidji Area to recognize the efforts of volunteers in our community by awarding the Someone Special Volunteer Award for outstanding volunteer service.

Northwoods Caregivers, as a part of its services, offers transportation to individuals in the community. Most of our riders are veterans who request rides to medical appointments and to pick up groceries and prescriptions in Bemidji and the surrounding area. Scott began in May of 2022 as a volunteer driver.

From then until now, he has driven 2,222 miles and put in over 107 hours of his time. Many of his passengers are disabled veterans who do not have access to transportation and live well outside of city limits.

Scott shows deep concern for all of those he transports and has formed many friendships through his volunteer services. He is a very affable, reliable, and compassionate individual. We are lucky to have him as a part of our team and highly recommend him as “Volunteer of the Year.”

Scott Anderson will receive a volunteer recognition plaque from Ken K. Thompson Jewelry as an acknowledgment of outstanding community service. Thank you, Scott for being SOMEONE SPECIAL.
