Swimmers advised to avoid area near Sailstar Marina

Swimmers are advised to avoid the waters near the Sailstar Marina in Cass Lake due to high levels of potentially harmful bacteria.

According to a release, the bacterial concentration is most likely due to waterfowl waste in the area.

The Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Environmental Department will continue to monitor the harmful bacteria, but residents and visitors should avoid swimming in that area until further notice.
