Tax prep help available at Senior Center beginning Feb. 12

The Bemidji Senior Center says they’ll be able to help people with their taxes starting on Feb. 12.

The free tax preparation assistance program is for people over the age of 60 or anyone with a moderate income.

Due to COVID, the process will be different. Taxpayers may call the senior Center starting Thursday, Feb. 11, at 751-8836 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to make an appointment.

The tax prep service will require two visits, one to scan in documents and another visit a week later to review the completed return.

Clients will need to bring a photo ID, social security cards, income forms, health insurance information and last year’s tax return.

After Feb. 11, clients can schedule their appointments on any Monday, Thursday or Friday during the tax season.
