Three girls injured in crash with semi near Walker

Three Akeley girls were treated for injuries after a crash with a semi-trailer near Walker Monday.

The state patrol says the Kia van with a 16-year-old driver was northbound when she failed to stop at the Y at Highways 371 and 200, attempting to make a left turn.

The semi, driven by a 47-year-old Bemidji man, was eastbound on 200 and in the intersection when the two vehicles collided.

The driver and her 13- and 9-year-old passengers were treated for their non-life-threatening injuries at Sanford Bemidji, and the semi driver was not injured.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
