Two arrested near White Earth for fleeing police in stolen vehicles

Two were arrested near White Earth last Friday after fleeing police in stolen vehicles.

According to a release from Becker County Sheriff Todd Glander, the two vehicles were speeding on a county road and when an officer attempted a traffic stop, both fled down an unnamed logging road for a few miles.

One of the vehicles, a Ford 500, went into the ditch. The driver attempted to flee on foot but was soon apprehended.

The stolen Ford F450 truck continued on snowmobile trails until it crashed another mile and a half away.

Thirty-one-year-old Matthew Dodd of Ogema fled on foot and was found three hours later near a cabin on the Rat Lake Trail.

The driver of the 500 was identified as 20-year-old Jackson Widme of Detroit Lakes.

Both were booked in jail and face charges of fleeing police, theft, receiving stolen property and felon in possession of a firearm.
