Updates on Chippewa National Forest’s Penn North Resource Management Project

The Chippewa National Forest is 11 days into its 45-day objection period for the Penn North Resource Management Project.

Blackduck District Ranger Karen Lessard has prepared a draft decision after finding no significant impact for the environmental assessment. The project would include commercial harvest, clearcutting, thinning, creating a temporary road and prescribed burning.

Planting and seeding would follow the harvest.

The environmental assessment and drafts are available at the Blackduck Ranger District Office and online.
