Victim identified in fatal Becker County shooting

DETROIT LAKES– The Becker County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of the homicide victim from over the weekend.

According to a release, 27-year-old Jamie Lee Bevins, Jr., was struck during a shooting in Maple Grove Township early Sunday morning.

Deputies and officers with the White Earth Tribal Police Department responded to the scene just after 3 a.m., and they say that the shooting doesn’t appear random and that there is no threat to the public.

Anyone with information on this case is urged to contact law enforcement.
