The VITA tax assistance program is planning on resuming this year, but due to COVID-19, some general guidelines have been put into place.
According to a release, assistance will be available by appointment only.
The taxpayer will bring in their paperwork, and meet with a volunteer who will then scan their documents.
The clients will return one week later, by an appointment, to limit face-to-face contact between the volunteer and client.
Specific information will be released later as plans and guidelines are finalized. Appointments are not yet being accepted, and the earliest this could start is Feb. 11.
